There is a bug in with calculated fields: Q1.FieldByName('calculated_field').AsString:=DoSomething(Q1.FieldByName('memo_field').AsString); doesn't work becaus while in OnCalcFields the memo field is empty ('') but there is data in it if you e.g. connect it to a DBMemo control. It seems that while in OnCalcFields memo fields an not handled correctly. . The Bug is pertinent to Windows XP using Delphi.VCL.
